Norwegian Electric Systems (NES) has appointed Siv Remøy-Vangen as the new Managing Director (pictured right with Chairman, Gunnar Larsen).
NES is a supplier of low and zero emission propulsion and control systems for a wide range of vessels for the global marine market, including ferries and small cruise ships.
Remøy-Vangen joins NES from CEO of Maritime Bergen, a regional industry association for companies in maritime-based industries.
She has had several years’ experience as Vice President of Project Management for TTS Offshore Solutions, and as charterer and shipbroker at Odfjell Tankers and RS Platou. She is chairperson of Ocean Hyway Cluster, Norway’s network for maritime hydrogen.
“Siv is an energetic and highly competent leader that over many years have proven her dedication to the constant improvement of the maritime industry. She has a solid understanding of new technology and the role it can play in enabling the maritime industry to operate more cost-efficiently and with smaller environmental footprint. The board is delighted that she has accepted the role as managing director of NES,” said Gunnar Larsen, NES Board Chairman and CEO of NES’ parent company, HAV Group.
Remøy-Vangen will start in her new role on 1st January, 2023.
“NES is an exciting technology supplier that is perfectly positioned for the blue-green shift. Its innovative products contribute towards de-carbonising and making the global vessel fleet more efficient. The company will make a real difference and help the shipping industry reach its emission targets.
“With its presence in Western Norway, NES is also a company where I can continue the work to strengthen the Norwegian maritime cluster’s competitive advantage. I am grateful the trust placed in me and the opportunity to further develop NES together with my highly competent new colleagues,” she said.
