Anne Kalosh,Editor, Seatrade Cruise News & Senior Associate Editor, Seatrade Cruise Review reports “Frank Del Rio, former president/CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, is suing the company and four past directors over lost consulting compensation.

Del Rio claims he was induced to take early retirement, in part to save compensation expenses, and that the directors never intended to honor an oral agreement for a full 4.5-years of paid consulting. He’s alleging fraud, breach of contract and that the defendants conspired to conceal that he wouldn’t be paid beyond the first 2.5 years.

Del Rio seeks millions of dollars in lost compensation and damages in his complaint filed in the 11th Judicial Circuit in Miami-Dade County. He is asking for a jury trial.

CLH declined to comment on ongoing litigation. Other named defendants are former directors — Russell Galbut, who left in August 2024, and Harry Curtis, Mary Landry and Stella David, who all resigned in March as part of a board shake-up spurred by activist shareholder Elliott Investment. “
