Cable management systems’ supplier, Zinus, has won a contract from Damen Shipyards to deliver ZPP800 Tower solution Cable Management Systems (CMS) for the quayside, along with the SWC200 (swing connect system) as the on-board units, to be installed on the four new Island Class ferries being built for Canada’s BC Ferries.
These vessels will serve the routes between Nanaimo and Gabriola Island, and Campbell River and Quadra Island.
Zinus’ systems will provide efficient and reliable charging for the ferries when operating on electric power, the company said.
The systems’ delivery schedules are planned to begin in the second half of 2025 and are expected to be completed within the first half of 2026.
