TUI is evaluating its expansion options for Hapag-Lloyd Cruises outside of the traditional German-speaking countries.
TUI said that it believed various expansion and financial models are feasible to support Hapag-Lloyd’s expansion. In particular, TUI is in discussions about joint venture structures, such as TUI Cruises.
In line with Group strategy, the transformation to a digital company has been initiated. At the same time TUI will continue with the integrated model while moving ahead with the expansion of the hotels and cruise business at a lower level of capital intensity.
In addition, TUI Cruises’ ‘Mein Schiff 4’ will drydock at Chantier Naval de Marseille for a scheduled refit.
She is due to enter drydock on 3rd February and will have some of her main facilities refurbished, including restaurants, bars, lounges and pool areas.
