Since its purchase by New York-based software holding company, Bleeker Street Group last year, and its merger with Marine Learning Systems (MLS), marine software developer, Ripple Operations has been on the acquisition trail.
Recently installed CEO, Heather Combs (pictured), told ICSI that she was on the lookout for more companies to acquire, following the MLS merger and the recent purchase of Norwegian-based AdonisHR.
Other members of the Group include MarineCFO and Shipadmin, also through company mergers and acquisitions.

AdonisHR, is a Norwegian family-owned provider of crew management and payroll software solutions for the maritime industry.
This acquisition was backed by a substantial financial investment from Bleecker Street Group and significantly accelerates Ripple’s growth in the global maritime sector, positioning the company as the market-leading provider of Crew Success software, Combs claimed.
By joining forces with AdonisHR, Ripple now serves more than 380,000 seafarers on more than 2,000 vessels in nearly 100 countries worldwide in optimising crew safety, efficiency and overall performance through a single unified platform.
Ripple now offers all of a seafarers’ HR needs until retirement, it was claimed.
The software’s modular makeup allows flexibility by which clients can add modules as necessary without having to purchase products from other suppliers, resulting in greater cost efficiency.
Ripple was formed through the merger of New Orleans-based MarineCFO and Vancouver-based Marine Learning Systems (MLS) whose e-learning and skills assessment solutions is now integrated into the AdonisHR product suite.
In September last year, AdonisHR acquired and integrated Shipadmin, a supplier of on board operations systems, including daily ship/shore reporting, environmental compliance, document management and Personnel-on-Board (POB) solutions.
Today, the Group boasts major ferry operators and cruise lines worldwide on its client list. Its cruise interests include all Carnival Corp brands, Norwegian Cruise Line and Windstar, while the ferry portfolio includes BC Ferries, Staten Island Ferries, DFDS and Eckero.
