Swedish hydrogen fuel cell provider, PowerCell has won a follow-up order for its fuel cell system from an undisclosed Europe-based OEM manufacturer for installation on cruise ships.
The order is valued at around SEK41.8 mill and consists of 14 additional Marine System 225 units to provide auxiliary power to the undisclosed cruise ships’ electrical systems.
The equipment is due for delivery by the end of this year.
Marine System 225 is a compact fuel cell system delivering 225 kW of clean electric power with zero emissions, the company explained.
Since its introduction last June, PowerCell has received orders for more than 75 systems, with deliveries scheduled before the end of 2025.
