Norwegian Cruise Line’s (NCL) ‘Norwegian Encore’ is to undergo an extensive upgrade during a two-week drydocking period later this year.
She will be fitted with a new Spice H2O; two dining venues will be expanded – Cagney’s Steakhouse and Teppanyaki; the suites in The Haven by Norwegian will be redesigned; and 24 new balcony staterooms added.
Following her drydocking from 18th November, 2024 to 2nd December, 2024, the new Spice H2O, an adults-only, complimentary outdoor area tucked away from the main pool deck, will replace the laser tag arena.
This lounge will feature a new design and elevated layout from NCL’s longtime design partner, Studio Dado, by combining the amenities of Spice H2O from the ‘Breakaway-Plus’ class with those from Infinity Beach of the latest ‘Prima’ class vessels.
The enhancements will also include the expansion of Cagney’s Steakhouse and Teppanyaki, the hibachi-style restaurant, which will offer greater capacity by taking over Los Lobos’ footprint on deck eight and Coco’s on deck six.
In addition, Ocean Blue will be converted to the Palomar, boasting Mediterranean seafood cuisine.

Resulting in the growing demand for the three-bedroom suites on board ‘Norwegian Prima’, ‘Norwegian Viva’ and ‘Norwegian Joy’, ‘Norwegian Encore’s’ Premier Owner’s suites will be expanded from two bedrooms to three.
They are located in the Haven by Norwegian, which is the company’s exclusive ship-within-a-ship, and keycard access only complex with a concierge service, a private pool area, restaurant and bar.
Similar to the recent refurbishment of ‘Norwegian Joy’ earlier this year, ‘Norwegian Encore’ will also be fitted with an additional 24 new balcony and two club balcony staterooms by re-designing part of the ship’s Observation Lounge.
Once she completes the two-week drydocking, ‘Norwegian Encore’ will embark on a 12-day transatlantic voyage from Southampton, UK to Miami and then offer seven-day, round-trip sailings to the Caribbean through March, 2025.
For summer 2025, ‘Norwegian Encore’ will sail seven-day, round-trip cruises to Alaska from Seattle.
