US gaming company, Light & Wonder has been selected by Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) to bring Operator Wide Area Progressive (OWAP) table games to its 18-ship fleet.
This includes 200 GM ATLAS™ systems, featuring jackpot progressives, as well as blackjack and poker derivatives, to provide enhanced gaming experiences for all types of travellers.
“We take pride in delivering exciting gaming experiences that resonate with players, whether on land or at sea,” said Niaz Nejad, Managing Director – Americas, Gaming at Light & Wonder (pictured). “We’re excited to collaborate with Norwegian Cruise Line to launch its first OWAP table games network.
“By connecting our industry-leading GM Atlas progressives across their extensive fleet, we’re bringing the excitement of gaming to NCL’s guests at sea,” he said.
L&W OWAP technology will enable NCL to link gaming titles across multiple vessels through a centralised network, keeping them under the same umbrella. This solution is designed to enhance excitement at gaming tables and boost participation in progressive jackpots.
“We are thrilled to work with Light & Wonder to introduce OWAP table games to our 18-ship fleet,” said Ian Donald, NCL’s Vice President, Gaming Operations. “This innovative technology allows us to link gaming experiences across our vessels, offering our guests even more excitement and the opportunity for larger payouts.”
Light & Wonder’s first progressive system installation, as part of the contract, occurred on the ‘Norwegian Breakaway’ in August, 2024, with additional installations underway.
