One ship German tour operator FTI Group has succumbed to COVID-19 by announcing the cessation of operations.
The company thus becomes the fourth cruise line to announce they would be ceasing operations due to the pandemic, following Pullmantur, CMV and Birka Cruises.
FTI bought the 9,500 gt cruise ship ‘Berlin , in August, 2011, and launched FTI Cruises. The smaller deluxe cruise ship, which had accommodation for just over 400 pax, was marketed primarily to German-speaking customers.
According to local reports, the company is to cease the FTI Cruises brand as of 1st November, which is the end of its current fiscal year. In addition to cruises on board the ’Berlin’, FTI also marketed cruises on other operators’ ships.
Built in 1980,’Berlin’ has been anchored at Malaga, Spain since suspending cruises in March.
