First London CSIE speakers revealed

The organisers of Cruise Ship Interiors Expo Europe (CSIE) have announced the first five speakers to take the stage during the London expo on 30th November and 1st December.

Each speaker will be sharing his or her expert insights on many topics, including modern shipyards, implementing sustainability and the future of cruise design.

In no particular orders they include:

Vesa Uuttu, Royal Caribbean Group Director, Head of Architectural Design & Outfitting, Turku site.

Uuttu has over 30 years’ experience in shipbuilding, including working at international yards in various roles, involving both contractor and shipowner representative.

For the last four years, Uuttu has worked for Royal Caribbean Group, Newbuild and Innovation Europe.

Laura Sanden Cabo, Portfolio Creative Executive for Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI).

She has been with the company since February, 2018 and is responsible for the creative development of projects across Disney Cruise Line (new and existing fleet, drydockings, terminals & Castaway Cay).

Prior to this, she led WDI’s global Architectural Design Studio starting in 2013 and continues to work within Imagineering’s collaborative global environment to co-create the best in family entertainment.

Jennifer de Vere-Hopkins, Associate Director, Jestico + Whiles (pictured).

Since joining the company in 2006, she has worked across a wide portfolio of buildings, from laboratories and schools, to hotels and cruise ships.

Most recently, she led the team behind Jestico + Whiles’ first cruise ship for P&O Cruises.

Alejandro Crespo Daroca, Head of Design at Daroca Design.

Daroca took the opportunity to sail in Valencia’s boat regattas, which together with his curiosity for drawing and sketching, inspired him to pursue his career in yacht design.

Daroca Design is an award-winning Yacht design company, winning the European Design Award Transportation Category in 2018 and listed as a finalist in the Yacht Aviation Awards 2020.

Goneta Heta, Project Manager, SMC Design.

With a degree in Architecture and Masters in Interior Design, Heta has a good eye for detail structurally and decoratively.

She holds a rounded experience in commercial and residential projects fitting well in the marine industry design with extensive knowledge in all stages of design.
