First LNG cruise ship bunkering operation in Rotterdam

The bunkering barge ’LNG London’ has conducted the first ship-to-ship LNG bunkering of a cruise vessel in Rotterdam.

The bunkering operation took place on 1st October, Antwerp-based inland transport company and barge operator, Victrol said.

The 3,000 cu m capacity ’LNG London’, which is owned by LNG Shipping, a joint venture between Victrol and Sogestran, is on long-term charter to Shell.

According to Victrol, since starting operations in June, 2019, the vessel has carried out more than 200 LNG bunkering operations.

In addition to Rotterdam and Antwerp, the bunker barge, which loads LNG at Rotterdam’s Gate terminal, is also used by Shell in Amsterdam.
