The first cruise ship to arrive at Bordeaux’s new cruise terminal was the ‘Sea Cloud Spirit’ on 30th May.

This new facility is located at Pauillac downriver from Bordeaux.

Bordeaux Port invested €2.5 mill in renovating the former Airbus quay to accommodate cruise ships.

The new terminal is located 1.8 km downstream from Pauillac city centre, on the left bank of the Gironde estuary, in the heart of the Medoc wine region and close to Bordeaux.

New fenders, as well as several dolphins and bollards were added to the old quay and two new platform gangways will be delivered soon, the port said.

Bordeaux Port expects a record 66 cruise calls this year, and between 65,000 and 70,000 cruise passengers at its three terminals – Bordeaux city centre for ships of up to 250 m long (two berths); Le Verdon, located at the mouth of the Gironde estuary, for ships of any size (two berths); and Pauillac for ships of up to 320 m long (one berth).
