Dondra Ritzenthaler (pictured) has taken up the position of Azamara Cruises’ CEO.

She has had more than four decades of experience in the travel sector.

“I’m thrilled to be officially joining the incredible Azamara team,” she said.

“I am very proud of what Azamara has already built and their growth as an independent cruise line, and I plan to drive our company’s growth even further by energising and inspiring the team to be the best in the business.”

Dan Hanrahan, Azamara Cruises Chair, added: “We’ve eagerly awaited this day since announcing Dondra’s appointment, and we are confident that she will lead our team to into a new phase of growth while maintaining the integrity of our commitment to ‘Destination Immersion’ and an exceptional guest experience.”

With a fleet of four smaller size ships, ’Azamara Journey’, ’Azamara Quest’, ’Azamara Pursuit’ and ’Azamara Onward’, the cruise line allows travellers to reach marquee ports around the world as well as berthing in smaller, hidden gem destinations.

Azamara Cruises is committed to creating immersive experiences for guests through ‘Extended Destination Days’ (10 or more hours in port) for a more meaningful travel experience, it said.
