Atlas Ocean Voyages’ President and CEO, James Rodriguez, is to step down at the end of this year to pursue other opportunities.

Over the past two years, Rodriguez has effectively led the company through a period of substantial growth, redefining luxury expedition cruising while expanding the brand’s footprint both in North America and internationally.

Atlas remains committed to continued progress and growth, with several key initiatives solidifying its position one of the leader’s in the expedition cruise sector, for example:

Building a strong South Florida-based team: Atlas has cultivated a dedicated and passionate team in South Florida, ensuring the brand is well-positioned to serve the North American market.

Atlas quickly established itself as a formidable brand in the competitive Polar expedition market: Through strategic marketing partnerships and targeted sales initiatives.

Redefined expeditions beyond Polar: Under Rodriguez’s leadership, Atlas expanded its offerings beyond Polar expeditions, launching Epicurean expeditions and Cultural expeditions, which have been well-received by travellers seeking diverse, immersive experiences.

Strengthened the brand with trade and consumers: The company has deepened relationships with travel advisors and consumers, reinforcing its reputation for delivering unique, intimate expedition experiences. In 2024, the brand expanded its international presence, strategically focusing on the UK and Australia.

As the company begins the search for a new brand President, Atlas is committed to ensuring a smooth transition and aims to name a successor by the end of the year, it said.
