’Viking Vesta’, Viking Ocean’s latest cruise ship, was recently floated out at Fincantieri’s Ancona shipyard.
Among others, the float out ceremony was attended, by Viking Chairman, Torsten Hagen and Gilberto Tobaldi, Ancona shipyard director.
She is due to enter service in the summer of 2025, offering itineraries in the Mediterranean and Northern Europe.
The new cruise ship will have a gt of about 54,300 tonnes, will be fitted with 499 cabins to accommodate 998 passengers.
Along with her sistership ‘Viking Vela,’ set to leave the Ancona shipyard in the autumn, she will join Viking’s ocean fleet, all built by Fincantieri over the past 12 years.
Fincantieri and Viking recently signed a contract for the construction of another two sisterships to ‘Viking Vesta’, which as of the middle of July, included 20 ships.
A couple of days later, the keel was laid laid for the first Four Seasons and Marc-Henry Cruise Holdings yacht at Ancona.
The 34,000 gt, 207 m ‘Four Seasons I’ will be fitted with 95 suites. Delivery is scheduled for late 2025, with a Caribbean cruise operation set to begin in early 2026.
