AIDA Cruises has announced that it will gradually start to supply ‘AIDAperla’ with LNG, during the ship’s call at Barcelona, Marseille and Civitavecchia.
‘AIDAperla’ is the sistership of LNG-fuelled ‘AIDAprima’, delivered last year. ’AIDAprima’ was the company’s first of a new generation of LNG-fuelled ships to come into operation.
From Autumn, 2018, with the commissioning of ‘AIDAnova’, AIDA will be able to operate its next generation of ships using LNG, both in harbour and at sea. A second sistership is scheduled to be delivered the spring of 2021.
