Windstar’s lengthening project hits a snag

Windstar’s ‘Star Breeze’ lengthening and re-engining project has been severely delayed, due to asbestos being found in her machinery spaces.

Work stopped before the holiday break while the asbestos was removed. As a result, the ship’s redelivery was put back to 4th May from the original date of 11th February.

The first cruise this year was rescheduled for 25th May.

Sister ship ‘Star Legend’, which had been due for completion on 28th June, is now not due to be redelivered until 30th August, with her next cruise scheduled for 5th September, while ‘Star Pride’ will be handed back from the Fincantieri Palermo shipyard on 29th November instead of 16th of that month.
