Swedish maritime internet service provider, AecorLink is to deliver high speed internet to Wasaline´s new ferry – ‘Aurora Botnia’.

Wasaline has been using the company’s broadband service since 2017, on the ropax ‘Wasa Express’.

The company claimed to have installed the first long distance shore to ship, satellite free, high speed internet connection on a ferry.

AecorLink will provide an updated version of the shore to ship microwave system to match the stable, low latency and high speed internet services to be offered to passengers on the ‘Aurora Botnia’.

“AecorLink is proud to have Wasaline as a client and is greatly thankful to Wasaline’s co-operation and for letting AecorLink further develop and optimise the technology on its ferry. AecorLink has for many years refined its innovative, ship to shore, seamless microwave technology. We have today the most stable solution with unbeaten capacity over the longest distances in the business,” claimed Ulf Hårderup, AecorLink CEO.

Besides microwave shore to ship connectivity, the company  operates different types of hybrid techniques. It said that it also commissions on board Wi-Fi connectivity and captive portals including the provision of data analytics.
