Virgin Voyages has committed to reduce its climate impact and set a global target to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050.

To help reach this goal, the cruise line has partnered with different brands who share the same ethos of disrupting the industry by taking action.

Twelve – A carbon transformation company with revolutionary technology using air (not oil) to produce materials and fuel sources.

Argent Energy – The European waste-based biodiesel producer with a vision to help de-carbonise transport worldwide.

Good Fuels – Involved in accelerating the transition from harmful emissions into sustainable marine fuel (SMF) by implementing waste-based technology.

To reach this ambitious target, it is Virgin’s goal to work with businesses across the industry, governments, not-for-profit organisations, fuel suppliers and other stakeholders.

Virgin estimated that shifting to ‘drop-in’, sustainable marine fuels could reduce the lifecycle emissions from fuel by 75% or more.
