Fincantieri and Viking have have signed contracts for the construction of another two cruise ships for delivery in 2030, plus four options to be delivered in 2031 and 2032.
They will be built following the successful characteristics of the previous ships delivered by Fincantieri’s Italian shipyards to Viking.
Their value, subject to funding and other standard terms and conditions, was said to be large.
The new ships will be built in compliance with the latest environmental standards and navigation regulations and will be equipped with the most advanced safety systems.
They will also boast innovations, developed thanks to the constant collaboration between Fincantieri and Viking, to utilise green fuels and sustainable zero-emission energy generation systems.
Each ship will be of about 54,300 gt, and will be able to accommodate 998 passengers in 499 cabins.
The long-standing partnership between Fincantieri and Viking began in 2012, and now totals 22 ships, including the two expedition cruise ships built by the Norwegian subsidiary, Vard.
