Two veteran cruise ships have recently arrived at recycling yards.

On 3rd June, the 1972-built ‘Odin’ arrived at Alang in India for breaking.

She will be better remembered as Fred.Olsen’s ‘Black Watch’ (pictured) and built as the ‘Royal Viking Star’ before being lengthened.

The second vessel is the 1986-built ‘Marella Dream’, which has arrived in Turkey under the name of ‘Ella’.

She was Meyer Werft’s first cruise ship newbuilding when delivered as the ‘Homeric’ and was previously, ‘Westerdam’, ‘Costa Europa’ and ‘Thomson Dream’, before being switched to TUI’s Marella operation.
