Trelleborg Marine and Infrastructure has supplied its SCK cell fenders, as part of a project undertaken by the Singapore Cruise Centre to upgrade its infrastructure.

The upgrade was deemed necessary to accommodate the latest generation of cruise vessels at its international cruise terminal.

HarbourFront’s two terminals, the International Passenger Terminal (IPT) and the Regional Ferry Terminal (RFT) host more than 5 mill cruise and ferry passengers per year.

With the ongoing trend of cruise lines increasing in size, the Singapore Cruise Centre set out to upgrade its existing infrastructure to keep abreast of the industry development.

As part of the project, Trelleborg supplied and replaced the Centre’s existing fender systems with its SCK Cell Fenders.

Loh Lik Peng, Chairman ofSingapore Cruise Centre, said: “We have a long-standing relationship with Trelleborg, which is able to provide high quality and advanced fender solutions to meet the demands of the vessels that we not only accommodate now, but those we will do so in the future.

“Trelleborg’s unrivaled reputation and technical qualification meant the company was a natural choice to supply the project. Trelleborg’s SCK cell fenders provide the perfect solution and are performing as promised. We look forward to further strengthening our relationship with them in the future,” he said.

SCK cell fendersremain popular because of their simplicity, high performance, and strength, the company claimed. They come in a wide range of standard sizes and are interchangeable with many, older marine cell fender types.
