Oslo-based marine communications provider, Telenor Maritime has provided satcoms connectivity to Ambassador Cruises’ first ship, ‘Ambience’.
According to a report, Telenor carried out network design and the system’s installation, which comprises of a Ku-band VSAT and mobile broadband backhaul.
The mobile broadband solution will provide connectivity to passengers’ devices when roaming using the mobile network on board. Telenor said that it had over 400 roaming agreements worldwide.
Bandwidth will also be provided to the ship to allow paid Wi-Fi to guests and crew.
