Tallink Grupp’s recently acquired ro-pax ‘Sailor’ is to start operating on the Paldiski/Kapellskär route with three weekly sailings.
The first departure was scheduled for 12th July, 2020, sailing from Paldiski.
Currently, the company’s vessels ‘Regal Star’ and ‘Isabelle’ have been operating on the only route now open between Estonia and Sweden, to ensure a vital transport link for cargo and supplies between the two countries.
Alongside ‘Sailor’, ‘Regal Star’ will continue to operate on the route, according to the new schedule. ‘Isabelle’, which was operating on the route since the beginning of June, will be switched to a new Paldiski/Stockholm route, starting from the same day, until the end of August, 2020.
“The crisis has taught us that we must strategically increase our capacity for cargo transportation. Adding ‘Sailor’ to Paldiski/Kapellskär route just as the new route to connect Paldiski and Stockholm will allow us to offer our customers more flexibility in terms of more departures and destinations,” Kadri Land, Tallink Grupp Board Member, said.
Passengers returning from Sweden need to observe the two-week quarantine requirements currently still in place from national authorities after the trip and they will need to ensure that they are well with no coronavirus symptoms when travelling.
This quarantine requirement does not extend to cargo operators.
