SunStone to build seventh vessel

SunStone Ships signed an agreement on 29th May, 2019 in Hong Kong to build a seventh ‘Infinity’ class cruiseship.

This contract continues the company’s European designed, Chinese built concept, the company said.

The seventh vessel was ordered on the back of a long-term charter agreement and she will be delivered in September, 2021.

She will follow the ‘Greg Mortimer’, scheduled to be delivered in August, 2019,’Ocean Victory’ in October, 2020, ‘Ocean Explorer’ in January, 2021, ‘Ocean Odyssey’ in March, 2022, ‘Ocean Discoverer’ in September, 2022 and the ‘Ocean Albatros’ in October, 2022.

They are 104 m long, and 18 m wide, having a draft of 5.1m; with a capacity of between 130-200 pax and a crew of between 85 and 115.

Built to Ice Class 1A, Polar Code 6, they and are being fitted witha‘Safe Return to Port’ system, dynamic positioning, and zero speed stabilisers.

They willeach feature a patented X-Bow by Ulstein Design & Solutions.
