SunStone Maritime Group has reactivated two Infinity Class expedition cruise vessels ‘Ocean Explorer’ and ‘Ocean Odyssey’, which have been awarded multi-year charters.

‘Ocean Explorer’ will return to Polar cruising in October, 2024, when Quark Expeditions, a long-term client of SunStone, adds the vessel to its fleet of expedition vessels.

‘Ocean Odyssey’ will operate outside the cruise market.

In October, 2024, Quark’s charter of the ‘Ocean Adventurer’ is due to end, after which the vessel will be available for sale or charter.

The Infinity Class newbuildings are designed for Ice Class 1A and Polar Class 6 operations. The vessels also feature zero-speed stabilisation, virtual anchoring, and Safe Return to Port.

They have a capacity for up to 95 pax cabins, most fitted with balconies. The ships house a range of amenities, including restaurants, lecture space, lounges, a 180-deg indoor observation deck, outdoor viewing areas, a gym, sauna, spa, and a custom-designed platform catering for kayakers and divers.

Zodiac excursions are supported through four sea-level loading platforms and a mud room for off-board activities.
