Sommer to succeed Del Rio as NCLH head

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings’ (NCLH) President and CEO, Frank Del Rio, is to retire on 30th June, 2023, following a 30-year career in the cruise industry.

He will also step down from the company’s board of directors, but has agreed to serve in a consultant capacity as a senior advisor to the board through 2025.

Harry Sommer, the President and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) since 2020 (pictured), will succeed Del Rio and will also join the company’s board on 1st July, 2023.

In turn, David Herrera will succeed Sommer as President of NCL, effective 1st April, 2023. He previously served as Chief Consumer Sales and Marketing Officer at the cruise line.
