Cruise ship outfitter, SMS Group received the ‘National Maritime SME Award for the Best Business Transformation 2023’ at an event hosted by National Maritime to coincide with the recent London International Shipping Week and DESI.
Based in eight UK locations, SMS, provides marine engineering and interior outfit solutions both nationally and internationally for cruise ships, passenger ferries and the UK’s Royal Navy vessels.
SMS’ Dan Lockyer, Director of Outfit, (pictured) said: “National Maritime represents industry peers and SMEs across the UK – it’s absolutely fantastic to be recognised, as an outfit team, not only for our contribution to SMS but also to the broader industry.
“In the past year we’ve proudly supported numerous international cruise operators, UK ferry companies, and also BAE Systems in support of the Royal Navy – our customer base and our markets continue to grow.
“Outfit revenue is now nearly a quarter of SMS’ total turnover, and we can foresee this transformation accelerating into next year and 2025.
