Sea Cloud Cruises’ flagship ’Sea Cloud’ is to undergo a significant refurbishment project, following the conclusion of her 2025 European season.

The 1931-built, 64-guest, 4-masted motorised sailing ship, will be deployed in the Caribbean, Europe (Mediterranean, Canary Islands) and the Atlantic before entering drydock.

Next season, ‘Sea Cloud’, along with her fleet mates ’Sea Cloud II’ and ’Sea Cloud Spirit’, will host special events, both on board and ashore, to celebrate the vessel’s history.

Mirell Reyes, Sea Cloud Cruises’ North America’s President, said: “The 2025 season promises to be one of special celebration as our beloved ‘Sea Cloud’ sails to her guests’ most beloved Caribbean and European ports, before a well-earned rest and refurbishment.

“We will celebrate ‘Sea Cloud’s’ legacy and traditions on all our ships throughout the year before awaiting her triumphant return to service,” he said.

Adam Pazdzioch, Sea Cloud Cruises’ Managing Director and CTO, will oversee her refurbishment.

“Sea Cloud is a majestic vessel and continues to leave those who step on board her in awe, dating back to the days of her original owner Marjorie Merriweather Post and American designers Cox & Stevens.

“It is an honour to serve as her caretaker through this upcoming drydock as our team painstakingly prepares her for continued service well beyond her 100th birthday,” he said.

Her last major refurbishment was in 2011.
