Scanship Holding has, through its subsidiary Scanship AS, won a contract from STX France to deliver its environmental technology to the world’s largest cruise ship, the fifth RCCL ‘Oasis’-class vessel.
When delivered in 2021, she will have the capacity to carry more than 9,000 people on board.
Scanship will deliver its wastewater purification system and sludge treatment to ensure full compliance with the most strict discharge regulations to date.
This contract is the third for this ship series and the 19th newbuilding contract awarded Scanship by the French yard.
“With this contract, we are continuing our strong leading market position in the cruise industry, where Scanship AWP for clean oceans are being equipped on more than every second cruise ship entering service from 2014,” said Scanship’s CEO Henrik Badin in statement.
