UK based Saga Cruises has ordered a second cruise ship at Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany.
To be called ‘Spirit of Adventure’, she will be a sister ship to ‘Spirit of Discovery’ with similar external design, able to accommodate just under 1,000 pax and with balconies fitted on all cabin.
Saga CEO, Lance Batchelor, claimed that pre-sales for’ Spirit of Discovery’ had been very strong. and that “this confidence in demand has supported our decision to expand the newbuild fleet and purchase our second new ship, to be delivered by in August, 2020.”
Bernard Meyer, managing partner at Meyer Werft, said: “We are very happy and honoured to continue to work with Saga Cruises. Their decision to now build two vessels with us makes us very proud.”
The 58,250 gt vessel will be about 236 m long and 31.2 m wide
