The former Indian controlled, Polish-built passenger/cargo vessel ‘Nicobar’ (pictured) has been sold at auction to Indian recyclers.

Broking sources quoted the price as $456 per light displacement tonne (ltd) on the basis ‘as is’ Kolkata.

Elsewhere, the former Hong Kong casino ship ‘World’ was beached at Alang for recycling on 4th August, brokers reported.

She arrived under tow.

‘World’ followed the former Phoenix Reisen cruise ship ‘Albatros’, which was beached at Alang as the ‘Tros’ on 27th July.
