Danish-based equipment provider, PowerCon, has won a turnkey contract to provide shore power systems for cruise ships at Amsterdam.
PowerCon has teamed up with Dutch civil engineering company, BAM Infra, to complete the project. BAM will construct a new energy hub and provide a major upgrade to the general electrical infrastructure.
PowerCon is to collaborate with BAM Infra Nederland, Port of Amsterdam and Cruise Port Amsterdam to complete the project.
Amsterdam port has said it aims to being climate neutral along the North Sea Canal by 2050.
