Jason Montague, Chief Luxury Officer of Oceania Cruises, has confirmed that the company has turned options for another two ‘Sonata’ class cruise ships into firm orders.
The options were being held at Fincantieri and the new vessels will be delivered in 2032 and 2035, respectively.
He was speaking at the delivery ceremony for the ‘Allura’, the Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings’ brand’s eighth ship.
The 1,200-guest ’Allura’, was built at Fincantieri’s Genoa Shipyard and is the second ship in Oceania Cruises’ ’Allura’ class, following her sistership, ’Vista’, which was delivered in May, 2023.
‘Allura’ will be followed in summer 2027 by the first ‘Sonata’ class vessel, ’Sonata’, and then by her sistership, ’Arietta’ in 2029.
Each ‘Sonata’ class vessel will carry around 1,390 guests and will be of about 86,000 gt.
