‘Norwegian Spirit’ is to enter a Marseille drydock in January of next year for a 40-day, $100 mill refurbishment project.

She is the final ship to be refurbished under the Norwegian Cruise Line’s ‘Norwegian Edge’ upgrading programme.

Upon her redelivery, she will have 14 new venues, additional staterooms, an expanded Mandara Spa and new hull art design.

Among the additions will be a third main dining room – Taste- and the Blue Lagoon Cafe will be replaced by NCL’s 24-hour pub, The Local Bar and Grill.

‘Norwegian Spirit’s’ current buffet, Raffles Court & Raffles Terrace, will be replaced by the line’s signature Garden Cafe, which will include Great Outdoors extension, together with Great Outdoors Bar.

In addition, the ship’s complimentary Asian dining option, Shogun, will be renamed Silk Modern Asian.

She will also be fitted with Onda by Scarpetta, a new fine dining restaurant, which made its debut on ‘Norwegian Encore’ this month.

Other new venues will include the Waves Pool Bar, Bliss Ultra Lounge, Spinnaker Lounge and the Humidor Cigar Lounge.

‘Norwegian Spirit’ will also be fitted with 16 new staterooms: eight with balconies and eight located inside. Also, all existing cabins will receive new decor.
