‘Costa Victoria’ was due to be towed to Aliaga, Turkey for recycling at the end of January but she is still believed to be berthed at Piombino, Italy, where she arrived some nine months ago.

Elsewhere, the 1978-built former Harwich/Hook of Holland ferry ‘Prinses Beatrix’ and Brittany Ferries ‘Duc de Normandie’, among other guises, has been beached at Aliaga for recycling.

She arrived on 18th January, 2021 under the name of ‘Damla’.

Also arriving at Aliaga on 23rd January was the former CMV operated cruise ship ‘Magellan’ (pictured) under the name of ‘Mages’.

It has been rumoured that her consort ‘Columbus’ could soon join her.

Meanwhile, broking house CW Kellock & Co, part of the Eggar Forrester Group, has been exclusively appointed to market for prompt sale by private tender the 1961-built classic cruise ship ‘Funchal’.
