German Zeppelin business unit Power Systems has extended its existing service agreements for ‘AIDAprima’ and ‘AIDAperla’.
The contract for the cruise ships’ engines now includes the use of the software Cat Asset Intelligence (CAI), which provides analyses of the operating parameters and thus enables comprehensive service support.
CAI was installed on board the ships to provide automated system analyses and reporting based on data analysis of nearly 40 mill marine engine hours.
An on board module, which is connected to the respective machinery and sensors, delivers and analyses valid data in real time.
Zeppelin Power Systems monitors the two cruise ships engines’ condition, advise and implement recommendations for action, to help ensure maximum performance and availability of the propulsion and energy systems.
Fast forwarding of all the necessary information to Zeppelin enables immediate advice to be given thus aiding the technical management and the ship’s personnel. Higher availability and predictability will allow Zeppelin Power Systems to optimise vessel operations and give additional reliability in managing engines, equipment and entire fleets.
‘AIDAprima’ and ‘AIDAperla’ are each equipped with a Caterpillar MaK dual fuel engine and can therefore be run on low-emission LNG while berthed in port.
