Hurtigruten Group CFO change

Hurtigruten Group (HRG) has announced that Torleif Ernstsen is to resign as CFO effective, 30th June, 2023.

He will be succeeded by James McArthur (pictured).

“I am immensely grateful for my time at Hurtigruten Group. It has been exciting and rewarding, both personally as well as professionally over the last six years. I am very proud of helping the company become a leader in sustainable, adventure travel and while I cannot join the next phase of its journey, led out of London, I will follow its success, closely,” Ernstsen said.

He is to join Carnegie Investment Banking as its Oslo Managing Director in August, 2023.

“I want to thank Torleif for his hard work and contributions to the growth of the organisation over these last years. He has been a great partner to me and leader for our finance team. His capital markets, strategic and financial expertise has been important to helping us deliver on our ambitions and as our group executive management team transitions to London, he will be missed,” Daniel Skjeldam, CEO Hurtigruten Group, said.

McArthur brings over 13 years of corporate finance, accounting, business planning and investor relations experience within a private equity environment to the company with his most recent position as CFO, GenesisCare based in Dallas, Texas.

Prior to his time in the US, he served in various roles across Europe for GenesisCare, including as European CFO and UK General Manager leading the country unit operations.

Before GenesisCare, he worked as a private equity focused Investment banker with UBS AG in Sydney, Australia.
