In co-operation with its joint venture with Servicios Portuarios Canarios, Global Ports Holding (GPH) has signed a concessions agreement for the Alicante Cruise Port in Spain.
The world’s largest independent cruise port operator said its 80% owned joint venture has signed a 15-year deal, and that it expects to take over cruise operations at the port before the end of this month.
GPH also revealed that the joint venture plans to invest up to €2 mill in refurbishing the cruise terminal, alongside a multi-million-euro investment by Alicante’s port authority.
Alicante Cruise Port handles more than 100,000 pax per year.
