Norway’s Fosen shipyard is to complete the fitting out of the LNG powered ropax ‘Honfleur’ for Brittany Ferries.
‘Honfleur’ was originally ordered at Flensburger (FSG), where her construction started in 2018.
The 42,400 gt newbuilding is now being towed from Flensburg to Rissa in Norway, where she is expected to arrive this weekend.
Last June, Brittany Ferries cancelled the contract, claiming scheduled delivery delays caused by the yard’s continuing financial problems.
Due to FSG’s ongoing problems, the ropax was taken over by the Siem Group, which owned a small stake in the yard before selling the shares to investment concern Tennor Holding.
The yard, a specialist in ro-ro tonnage, has restarted operations under Tennor ownership.
