Giant cruise ship builder, Meyer Turku, has appointed Jakko Eskola (pictured) as the Board’s Executive Chairman.

Eskola has had more than 20 years of experience at Wärtsilä before retiring in 2021 as CEO.

He has also held leadership positions at other Finnish companies, including Cargotec, Kalmar, Suominen, and Varma, and holds a Master of Science in Engineering.

“By handing over the chairmanship of the Board to Jaakko Eskola, we are once again sending a strong signal of our commitment to Turku Shipyard, in which we as a family have invested heavily for over 10 years,” said MEYER WERFT head, Bernard Meyer.
