Cruise ship technology company, DeCurtis Corp, has introduced a new suite within its Experience Platform (DXP) family – DeCurtis Shield.

Part of a multi-faceted approach to mitigating the risks thrown up by the COVID-19 pandemic, DeCurtis Shield enables cruise lines (and others) to rapidly deploy kiosks to capture core data from guests, crew and visitors.

The system uses a combination of facial recognition and thermal imagery to assess temperature and allow integration with operational procedures. Furthermore, the DeCurtis Shield Kiosks can be deployed across the environment to collect data throughout the voyage.

When combined with the corporation’s DXP, the data collected can be aggregated and used to pro-actively address issues that may be indicated by temperature information.

Furthermore, when leveraged in an ecosystem using DeCurtis’s Location Solution, both real-time and retroactive timelines can be evaluated to address potential outbreaks, assess interaction risks, as well as strategically plan for cleaning protocols, the company claimed.

The company said that it offers the following benefits –

*Standalone solution for ease of adoption.

*Continuous monitoring throughout any indoor environment.

*Provides actionable data to mitigate risks.

*Puts guests, crew and visitors at ease.

*Proactive protocols to limit outbreak risks.
