Crystal Cruises has secured the finance for two of its three luxury newbuilding cruise ships at Fincantieri
The ships will each accommodate about 650 passengers and will be of 61,800 gt. Each suite will feature a private veranda.
Last year, Crystal announced that it had signed a memorandum of agreement with Fincantieri for two ships and expected the delivery of the first in the spring of 2028. In November, a third newbuilding was firmed up for 2032 delivery.
“Securing this financing represents a decisive step forward in Crystal’s expansion and demonstrates the strong market confidence in our strategy,” said Manfredi Lefebvre d’Ovidio, Executive Chairman of Crystal’s parent, A&K Travel Group.
“We are grateful for the trust placed in us by our banking partners, led by Citibank, London Branch, along with Banco Santander, CaixaBank, UK Branch, Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, Credit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank, Banca Monte Dei Paschi Di Siena and Bper Banca.
This consortium’s backing validates our position in the ultra-luxury cruise segment,” he said.
Throughout the financing process, construction on the ships has continued as planned. The first ship is expected to be delivered in May, 2028.
A&K acquired Crystal after the line ceased operations in 2022, returning the line to service in 2023.
