Cruise Baltic recently launched a new strategy, ‘Responsible Cruising’, which has been endorsed by more than 30 ports and destinations in the Baltic area.
Its aim is to define the sustainable cruise tourism of tomorrow, while re-establishing cruising to exceed pre-pandemic levels and increasing knowledge sharing.
Cruise Baltic said the key elements are the collaboration between the 32 member partners in the network and dialogue with external stakeholders.
“It is when we join forces that we can make a real difference. This is reflected in our new strategy that aims to inspire our partners and stakeholders to connect, collaborate and share knowledge under common values and goals for a sustainable and responsible cruise tourism. Together we can accelerate the transition of the cruise industry,” said Klaus Bondam, Cruise Baltic Director.
‘Responsible Cruising’ was a strategy presented by Cruise Baltic from 2023 to 2026. During the period, partners from the cruise network will work on strengthening the narrative of the region.
This will showcase the diversity of each destination and reasons to visit, developed by the destinations in order to regain market share.
The strategy’s purpose is to better equip and enable the industry to adapt to unforeseen circumstances and to enhance collaboration internally among partners in the cruise network, as well as externally, with stakeholders.
One of the focal points is sustainability and defining tomorrow’s cruise tourism, in which sustainability will be essential for future work targeting cruise lines, small ship operators and travel agents.
