As well as chartering vessels (see NCLH story), Crescent Seas has officially announced its first newbuilding, ‘The Ocean,’ due to be delivered in 2032.

Russell Galbut, CEO and Founder confirmed the order at Seatrade Cruise Global event in Miami last week.

With ‘The Ocean,’ Crescent Seas claimed that it will continue to push the boundaries and reshape the concept of life at sea, appealing to a new generation of affluent travelers who were seeking elegance, comfort, and immersive experiences.

In a panel discussion,‘Disruptive Innovation with Russell Galbut’. he reflected on how his deep-rooted experience in commercial real estate and over two decades on Norwegian Cruise Line’s (NCL) Board had inspired him to reinvent the seagoing lifestyle.

With a focus on well-appointed accommodations, extended stays at sought-after destinations, and unmatched personalised service, this newbuilding is set to define a new standard in maritime luxury, he claimed.

Crescent Seas’ philosophy is centered on redefining traditional cruise norms. Rather than rushing from port to port, the brand emphasises immersive stays and world-class on board living, transforming travel into an enriching journey.

This vessel will join Crescent Seas’ growing fleet alongside the earlier ships, ‘Navigator’ and ‘Insignia’, which are scheduled to start operations in 2026 and 2027, respectively.

Backed by GFO Investments, Crescent Seas has made a name for itself by blending real estate expertise with sophisticated ship design.

He explained that every detail of the vessel is being carefully curated to ensure it delivers an elevated, timeless experience worthy of the Crescent Seas name.
