A couple of week ago, Carnival announced that its 23-year-old, 2,056-pax ‘Carnival Fascination’ would undergo a major overhaul this February.
The makeover will bring an array of new venues to the San Juan, PR-based vessel including a Guy’s Burger Joint — a poolside burger venue developed in partnership with the Food Network’s Guy Fieri that has been rolling out across the Carnival fleet.
Also new will be BlueIguana Cantina, a poolside Mexican eatery that offers burritos and tacos on home-made tortillas and an extensive toppings and salsa bar. This is another venue that Carnival has been adding to many of its ships.
Other additions to the vessel will include BlueIguana Tequila Bar, a Mexican-themed, pool-side bar serving frozen drinks and beer; RedFrog Rum Bar, another poolside venue that specializes in rum-based frozen drinks; and a pharmacy-themed Alchemy Bar.
The vessel also will get a new Cherry on Top sweets shop and a Bonsai Sushi Express venue. The overhaul will take place at the Grand Bahama Shipyard between 4th-17th February.
‘Carnival Fascination’ usually sails year-round from San Juan to the Southern Caribbean but is currently under charter to the US Federal Emergency Management Agency to house relief workers in St. Croix.
She will return to Southern Caribbean sailings from San Juan after the drydocking.
