Brazil’s government opened a new $45 million cruise port in Belém, located in the Outeiro district, to coincide with the COP 30 conference. The port is designed to accommodate large cruise ships with a capacity for over 5,000 guests and will continue to serve the cruise industry after the event concludes, helping to expand Belém’s infrastructure and presence in the cruise sector.
President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva attended the opening ceremony for the Outeiro Cruise Port. The purpose is to host large cruise ships, initially serving as floating hotels for the COP 30 conference guests.
