Geir Johan Bakke and the Havyard board have agreed to terminate his employment.
Bakke (pictured) has been employed by the beleaguered Havyard Group since 2001, has been CEO since 2004, and has been central to the development of the Group.
Under his leadership, from being a standalone shipyard, Havyard has become an integrated company with design, shipyards and equipment production, as well as with almost 600 permanent employees and an order book of over NOK4,300 mill.
Chairman Vegard Sævik said. “Geir Johan has been incredibly important to the development Havyard Group has been through. He has shown an impressive commitment to developing the Group, which is of great importance to the communities in which Havyard operates.”

Both parties have agreed not to comment further. Meanwhile, the the board has appointed Gunnar Larsen as interim CEO. He will immediately begin the work of recruiting a permanent CEO.
Larsen comes from the position of General Manager of the Havyard Production & Service business area, he is the Group’s Senior Vice President of Market & Business and has been with Havyard for 12 years.
