Avenir LNG Limited has recently won two bunkering contracts from Baltic ropax operators.

These include, wholly owned subsidiary, Avenir Marine Limited  signing a three-year LNG bunkering supply agreement (SPA) with Destination Gotland to supply of up to 40,000 tonnes per annum of LNG as fuel for the ropaxes ‘Gotland’ and ‘Visby’.

Avenir Marine was established to focus on providing competitive and flexible supply solutions for LNG and BioLNG as a marine fuel, the company said.

Under the agreement, Avenir Marine will deliver LNG to both ropaxes via ship-to-ship transfers at Visby, Sweden using the ‘Avenir Ascension’, a 7,500 cu m LNG bunker vessel, which was delivered earlier this year.

The first delivery under this new agreement was successfully conducted on 8th June, 2022 and deliveries will continue through 2Q25.

In addition, on 10th June, Avenir Marine organised the first LNG & BioLNG delivery at Travemuende/Lübeck, Germany.

The fuel was bunkered into TT-Line’s new ropax ‘Nils Holgersson’ at Travemuende’s Scandinavian quay.

To undertake the bunkering operation Avenir teamed up with LIQUIND 24/7 GmbH, a German LNG infrastructure provider, and Landwärme GmbH, a biomethane trader.

The fuel delivered to the vessel was 10% BioLNG.

This operation was the start of a long-term co-operation between Avenir LNG and TT-Line for the supply of LNG and BioLNG to two new ropaxes that sail between Sweden, Germany, and Poland.
