Royal Caribbean is to drydock the ‘Allure of the Seas’ for one week in January, next year, resulting the cancellation of a cruise.

In a statement, Royal Caribbean said the drydocking is being scheduled to “allow for the cruise line to conduct standard maintenance work.” However, the vessel was known to have been hit by propulsion problems for several weeks recently, according to media reports, forcing the ship to sail at reduced speeds, thus impacting on port calls.

The drydocking, which will take place at the Grand Bahamas shipyard will begin on 21st January, 2018.

“We understand that our guests’ vacation time is precious and the inconvenience this may cause. Those affected by the cancelled sailing will be provided with alternative options to make the most of their vacation time,” the company reportedly said.
